🔁 What’s the Difference Between –100 and +100?

The sign in front of the number — minus (-) or plus (+) — is what matters most in Moneyline odds. It tells you whether the pick is a favorite or an underdog, and how the payout is calculated in your simulated account.

–100 (Favorite)

  • A negative number means the pick is the favorite.

  • You must risk 100 units to simulate a 100-unit profit.

  • Lower reward, but higher chance of winning.

Example:
Risk 100 → Profit 100 → Total return: 200

+100 (Underdog)

  • A positive number means the pick is the underdog.

  • You risk 100 units to simulate a 100-unit profit.

  • Same payout as -100, but this side is less likely to win.

Example:
Risk 100 → Profit 100 → Total return: 200

🎯 Key Difference:

Even though the payout is the same for both +100 and -100, they reflect opposite betting dynamics:

Odds

Type

Indicates

Payout

-100

Favorite

More likely to win

Risk 100 to gain 100

+100

Underdog

Less likely to win

Risk 100 to gain 100

It’s not just about the numbers — it’s about what the sign means.
